JEE AME Aircraft Electronic System and instrument (JEE-AME)
Explain Aircraft Electronic System
An electronic flight instrument system, or EFIS
for its acronym in English (Electronic Flight Instrument System), 1 is a
cockpit instrument system in which the display technology used is electronic
instead of electromechanical.
An electronic
flight instrument system generally has a main flight display, multifunction
displays and a screen for the engine indication and team warning system
(EICAS). Even though cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors were used initially,
liquid crystal displays (LCD) are now more common.
The electromechanical attitude indicator complex (ADI) and the horizontal situation indicator (HSI) were the first candidates for replacement by EFIS. However, now there are few instruments in the flight deck for which an electronic screen is not available.
